The Scruffs Harvard Mattress is a flat memory foam dog bed in pearl grey, made by Scruffs with older and larger dogs in mind.

The fill is crumbed memory foam, spread evenly so the sleep area stays flat instead of rising into a dome in the middle. The outer is a herringbone fabric with a soft plush cushion. It has a non-slip base, and the outer cover comes off for the wash.

If your dog is stiff or struggling to get up, ask your vet to check them. A good bed makes them more comfortable, but it does not treat anything.

It only comes in Large and X-Large, so it is not for a small dog. And with no walls, it suits a dog who stretches out. For one who curls up, the Harvard Box Bed has the same fill with padded sides.

For a big dog who sleeps flat out, this is the one we would pick.

Scruffs photograph it with a Cocker Spaniel on the Large and a Gordon Setter on the X-Large.

Size Guide

Sizes Large: 100 x 70 x 12cm (39" x 27.5" x 4.7") X-Large: 120 x 75 x 16cm (47" x 29.5" x 6.3") How to choose Measure your dog stretched out asleep, from nose to the base of the tail. Pick a size that takes their head as well as their body, so nothing hangs off the edge. If your dog is between two sizes, go up. Mattresses suit dogs who sleep stretched out. If your dog curls up and likes to lean on something, a box bed will suit them better.
