The Scruffs Alpine Pyrenees is the tallest of the Alpine cat trees we sell: 130cm high and just over a metre wide, in taupe. It has two beds, a cave, a perch, a cushion and pom poms to play with.

It is built for a house with several cats, or one cat who likes to be as high up as possible.

The posts are pear wood wrapped in sisal rope. Cats like scratching real wood, and the sisal gives them a second, rougher texture. The beds and platforms are covered in a thick textured faux fur over a recycled polyester filling, and the bedding comes off for the wash.

It needs a metre of wall to stand against, and at this height we would treat the wall strap as essential rather than optional. The base and platforms are chipboard. If you are short of space, the Alpine Colorado has the same cave, perch and cushion at 100cm tall.

For two or more cats, this is the one to get. It comes flat-packed and needs putting together. The tools are in the box.

Scruffs photograph it with four Maine Coon kittens and a Selkirk Rex.

Measurements for every size, and how to choose, are in the size guide on this page.

Materials

  • Posts: pear wood
  • Scratching rope: sisal
  • Base and platforms: chipboard
  • Faux fur: 100% polyester
  • Filling: 100% recycled polyester fibre

Washing

  • Removable bedding: gentle machine wash at 30°C with a mild detergent.
  • Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat.
  • Anything that does not come off: spot clean with a soft damp cloth. Dab rather than rub, or the fabric can be damaged.
  • Colour can transfer, particularly when wet. Keep out of direct sunlight.

Safety

  • Scruffs supply a wall strap to stop the tree toppling over. Use it. Fixings are not included, so buy ones that suit your wall.
  • Keep away from fire.
  • This is a pet product, so keep it away from young children.
  • Check it regularly for wear, and replace it if it is damaged or any part comes loose.
  • Pets can chew things unexpectedly. If yours swallows any of the material, ring your vet straight away.

Size Guide

Sizes Overall: 102 x 48 x 130cm (L x W x H) Top bed: 30 x 30cm Lower bed: 25 x 25cm Perch: 35 x 35cm Cushion: 34 x 34cm Cave: 36 x 36 x 30cm (L x W x H) How to choose One size. The first measurement is the overall footprint and height, then the size of each bed, perch and cave. Leave room around it for your cat to jump on and off, and stand it against a wall so you can fit the wall strap supplied. The beds and perches suit kittens and average-sized cats. A fully grown large breed, such as a Maine Coon, may find the smaller beds snug.
