The Scruffs Alpine Himalayas is a low, wide cat tree in taupe: 65cm tall and 74cm across, with a cave, a bed, a cushion, a scratching post and pom poms to play with.
Everything is within an easy jump, so it suits kittens and cats who prefer lounging to climbing.
The posts are pear wood wrapped in sisal rope. Cats like scratching real wood, and the sisal gives them a second, rougher texture. The beds and platforms are covered in a thick textured faux fur over a recycled polyester filling, and the bedding comes off for the wash.
Not the one for a climber. A cat who wants to look down on the room will get more from the Alpine Colorado, which puts the same cave and cushion on a 100cm frame. The base and platforms here are chipboard.
If your cat likes to hide and nap more than climb, this is the one to get. It comes flat-packed and needs putting together. The tools are in the box.
Scruffs photograph it with two Maine Coon kittens.
