PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Feline NF Renal Function is a tasty complete veterinary diet for cats to support kidney function in cases of chronic kidney disease. It contains restricted amounts of phosphorus as this mineral can build up in kidney patients and has been shown to contribute to progression of the disease.

The diet also contains limited amounts of high-quality protein to help minimise development of the protein breakdown products (uraemic toxins) which make patients feel unwell while helping to maintain muscle mass. Omega-3 fatty acids help to enhance natural anti-inflammatory processes and minimise increases in blood pressure inside the kidney.

The recommended period of use is initially up to 6 months, although the product can be used long term. A gradual transition to the new diet may be especially helpful in cats with CRI. Cats with CRI that remain inappetent should be assessed for nausea. Warming the product to room temperature can enhance palatability for cats with a fussy appetite. Always provide fresh drinking water.

Our very elderly female cat has been in renal failure for about 3 years now. We tried other renal foods but this is the one she likes the best. She often has 4 sachets a day, despite this she is very thin but is happy, going out and visiting the neighbours and generally going round the garden each day checking that everything is alright. Great Value

Our cat is a diva, so to try and get her to eat renal food I thought would prove difficult. But she does love this brand, both salmon and chicken. The product is what she enjoys plenty of wet gravy and small chunks. We still have to mash it up for her, but this is not a problem as we love her dearly.

Excellent Palatable Renal Food

We inherited a cat who, unfortunately, is in renal failure. He was losing weight at an alarming rate. We moved him over to this product, and the transformation has been remarkable. He has gained weight and has an increased appetite, and his coat condition has improved markedly. This is also due to the high moisture content. It is the only food that he leaves nothing behind. I can highly recommend this product if your cat is in renal failure.

Was surprised how much my fussy cat enjoyed this product. So much so I have reordered more pouches in both chicken & salmon flavour. Too early to know if it will improve her kidney problem but definitely a good start. Great service & quick delivery from Pet Planet.
