The suggested daily food intake for weight loss is based on the cat’s current weight, average caloric requirements and a desired weight loss of 1% of body weight per week. Daily food intake should be adjusted every 2–4 weeks after reweighing. This diet should be fed for the duration of weight loss until target weight is reached and may also be used long term for cats prone to weight gain using the maintenance feeding quantities. It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use. Clean, fresh drinking water should always be available.
