The suggested daily food intake for weight loss is based on the cat’s current weight, average caloric requirements and a desired weight loss of 1% of body weight per week. Daily food intake should be adjusted every 2–4 weeks after reweighing. This diet should be fed for the duration of weight loss until target weight is reached and may also be used long term for cats prone to weight gain using the maintenance feeding quantities. It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use. Clean, fresh drinking water should always be available.

This food is prescribed by the vet to maintain weight loss, and is far cheaper than obtaining it through the surgery. Pet Planet are reliable in sending it at intervals. However, their IT system is rigid - it is not possible to amend the timing or quantity of an order, or to add certain items on sale on their web site. This needs improvement.
