My ber-finicky cats used to absolutely CRAVE the Savoury Cakes cat food, eating every single scrap in their bowls! Unfortunately, Purina have taken the route that so many companies do, from cosmetics to perfume to body products and packaged foods, and put profit over quality. ALL of the Savoury Cakes have gone from a cake-like dry texture to a gloppy, aroma-less mess (cats are tempted by smell alone, so this is a bad move), the salmon flavour in particular going from pink to a disgusting brown. My cats wont touch it now, so its back to wasting money while trying to find something theyll actually eat! Be warned that although there are still a few cans of the original recipes floating around out there, were getting more and more of the new one now, and since theres no way of knowing what youve purchased until you actually open the can, I wouldnt bother with this food unless your cats are half-starved: The better-fed the cat, the more picky they become. Were now forced to put this out for the multiple strays (and hedgehogs!) that we feed daily; a pricey food for animals who are accustomed to either foraging for grubs or from garbage bins! Purina obviously dont understand the finicky nature of cats AT ALL.
