Down side to the SmartSift cat pan liner.

Plastic is a good quality, but for something that was specially design for the Catit SmartSift, the designers didn't do a very good job. The issue is the way the cat pan liner is sealed at the bottom. The method used to seal the plastic tube that is starts out as means there are four pockets in which the cat litter and cat waste can get stuck when the cat pan is tilted to por the cat litter in to the hopper through the grill and then continue on to dump the waste into the waste tray. This means you do not actually manage to remove all the cat waste to the waste tray. I have resorted to using brown parcel tape to seal the four pockets flat when I put a new cat pan liner in the SmartSift. I also use the tape to tape the open edges of the plastic cat pan liner to the outside of the Cat pan so it does not come loose when you tilt the cat pan to sift the cat waste. If you don't tape it to the outside, it tends to come loose due to the cat waste sticking to the liner when it is tilts to the vertical position. I also shake the cat pan back and forth as you start tilting it so that the cat litter does actually sift through the grill rather than just pouring into the waste tray.

Sturdy Liner

Despite the item arriving 'late'..iv've found it to be durable my cat claws grow very fast and she loves to scratch at the liner even when she's not using it and it's withstood her sharp claws.
