Really nice quality with a good bell

This was really nice quality with a good bell. However, my cat was not as keen as I was and came home without it after just two days. I bought some cheap replacements which were not as good - but it did give me the chance to see my cat actually take the collar off himself! If your cat is not Houdini, it is a good purchase...

Made well we shall see.

I have wanted the red collars, as both my cats are BLK, well we will leave it at that, but I new if I wanted to keep my birds my cats must have a collar with a bell on. And round where I reside I have counted at least twenty four cats now living in a short space, that more than the average street, for pets, but cats kill more birds in their lifetime than any other animal or hawk, so if I can &must stop the sheer destruction of my beautiful blue birds, I shall do so with every bone in my body.they may not have been over keep but I was and the red suits both. Against the BLK., Thank you for the collars.

Smart Collar

Good value smart collar- looks lovely on my slinky black cat and hopefully makes him a bit safer on dark nights- quite a loud bell too which keeps the birds safe from him!

DANGEROUS CLASP NOT A SAFETY COLLAR!

Bought 2 of these 2 months ago with the view to when the kittens were 6 months old and had been neutered etc that they could start to go outside in the garden to explore, but also keep the birds safe with their bells on.Fast forward to now,6 months old i thought id try the collars on them now in the living room first, just to see how they reacted to them. The collars are long and needed the slider clasp pulled along to make them shorter. Its not the type you can cut off excess. I read and followed the instructions, leave 2 fingers between your cat and collar.Tested the clasp in my hands first to see it pulled apart, yes it did.Fitted them on the kittens and instantly they ran about the room trying to get away from the bell sound. Within seconds one was particularly in a frenzy, i saw blood on her. She had somehow gotten the collar into her mouth whilst trying to get it off herself. There was blood round her mouth and on her chest .She tried to dive behind the sofa in fright,I managed to grab her,she was like a wild thing, scratching in fear. The collar did not break away easily at all,the buckle had gone from being on the back of her neck to in her mouth. I got it off her but not easily,as i say it was all over in 30 seconds but was so scarey. I cannot recommend these for 6 month old kittens, it could of gone so wrong had that happened in later day/weeks outside perhaps or at a time i wasnt in the room. I was shocked as were both the kittens. The other kitten immediately washing the injured kittens bloodied hair. I wont be using these! I feel the old style felt elasticated ones where you can cut off the excess length are safer. I doubt the kittens are going to take to wearing any collar now after their traumatic ordeal.
